Tonight is the first event of this year's Wild Tales, the storytelling festival along the coast of Wales, from Aberystwyth to Newport.

A Thing with Feathers - Jessie Wild

Tuesday 26th May, 7:30pm - £6 / £8 (some tickets available on the door)

A powerful telling, full of rich characters and vivid descriptions. Inspired by Emily Dickenson’s poem “Hope is the thing with Feathers” and Jessie’s own grief journey, “A Thing With Feathers” is a collection of bird folk tales and myth from around the world. Each story speaks to the heart of the human experience – they are tales of friendship, love, grief and ever present hope. They are stories for our times!

A performance storyteller, with a passion for traditional Romany stories, folk and wonder tales from the British Isles and Eastern Europe. Jessies repertoire also includes Greek myth and the rich tapestry of Arabian Nights. Having trained as an actor and worked extensively in the profession and as a drama teacher, Jessie knows just how to engage and captivate an audience with her range of characters and expressive physicality. Her storytelling has been described as “magical”, ”enchanting”, “mesmerising” and” captivating”. Jessie believes that old stories are like spells and when you tell them to a live audience, magic happens.

Plus music and maybe even a bonus story from our local legend and tonight's host, Milly Jackdaw!

Then on Thursday 28th May - Cath Little shares tales of Morgan le Fay, and Jessie Wild returns again with a Romany tale... at the Tell Tales Club in Cardigan
