April Storytelling Circle in Ceredigion!

Hello folks!

I've finally recovered from the mischief that was The THIRD Goblin Masquerade in Borth, organised by the Goblin Circus, which was utterly wonderful! Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for the Market and the Ball, to all the performers and traders and volunteers who made it possible. Can't wait for next year... (and we might be brewing some extra events too... who fancies an afternoon of merfolk and sirens in Aberystwyth? Watch this space...)

I've been sharing updates on our performers and traders in the Goblin Circus Facebook group, join us there to hear about further adventures!

April Fables This Weekend

The next few months we have several storytelling things for your diary, and I thought I'd let you know what's already booked in.

Our next Fables is on Saturday 6th April at The Bookshop by the Sea, Aberystwyth, 7pm - 8:30pm - donations welcome, no-one turned away for lack of funds. Bring a tale to tell if you like, it's a safe space to try things out. (EVENT PAGE - or - Join the Fables FB Group Here)

On 26th April Milly Jackdaw and myself will be bringing Thereby Hangs a Tale to Aberystwyth Arts Centre. Shakespeare and Fairy Tales... explored! Get your tickets for THaT here!

And on 30th April I'm bringing the Faery Doctor to the Bank Vault, Aberystwyth. Join me for an evening of storytelling and medicinal myths! (Free entry - donations welcome)

The Aberystwyth Steampunk crew are bringing Star Wars themed Steampunk to Portmeirion for a creative social weekend on May 4th (and 5th)...

And the Bookshop is running the Aberystwyth Poetry Festival in May too!

In Other News:

The local Pagan Moot runs monthly evening talks at the Bank Vault, Myth and Magic Tuesdays, which some of you might be interested in! Next up - Tuesday 23rd May with a talk on Arboromancy, ie working magic with trees! Some of the talks will be more myth themed, and some more magical, feel free to come to the ones that sound interesting to you :) Free entry, though we'll pass the hat for the speaker!

Happy Spring! I look forward to seeing you at an event soon!

Happy thoughts,

~Halo

Hello folks, We have an April Fool's Day Fables next week!!! No pranks (it's after midday) but I wonder if anyone will bring a trickster tale? In March we ended up with historical theme to the stories - Tales of Saint David, Saint Collen, and Mother Shipton - poetry, and a song or two, and this led our newest attendees to ask if the stories have to be historical. Absolutely not! We welcome all oral stories, from history, myth, legend, folklore, and your own creations. Over the years we've...

Stay in, stay warm, and if you're missing the stories tonight you can check out some of the tales from Fables in previous years on my YouTube channel here: Aber Fables & Other...
